ABOUT THE ACADEMY
Academy Dog Training by Haywood has had its roots here in the DC area for over 40 years! The Academy has sought to transform people's understanding that even a simple walk is a potential adventure for their pup and them. We seek to teach, both canine and human how to better communicate and learn using our 3 step balanced approach to training.

Academy Dog Training by Haywood has stood by its mission to maximize the quality of life for all dogs and their families through education. To date, the Academy has brought over 3000 dogs and their families closer together through education and physical fitness keys to an extraordinary relationship! If that relationship is not healthy then another dog is sent to a shelter or worse. We are here to make sure that doesn’t happen.

MEET OUR STAFF
With a father who trained dogs and a mother who is a Veterinarian, Jason naturally developed a lifelong passion for animals. Now overseeing all advanced programming at the Academy, he draws on his deep background in dog sports, blending a love of teaching with a competitive edge. Under his leadership, this team of rebels proudly serves the spirited Silver Spring community.

Kranti's training journey started over in Chennai India. While on her journey to train her own pup she fell in love with training. Using her Bachelors of Psychology, Kranti approaches each dog as a puzzle to be solved! Kranti has worked her way from trainer to Business Manager of Academy.

Trainer
Tiara's journey wanted to burst into the world of dogs by any means necessary. This led her to opening her owning dog walking business. After working with dogs for a while she wanted more. This led her to Academy, and she has taken off. She handles training of our puppies to most complex!
Lake's journey to the Academy came through their ability to make dogs look their best. Lake was pivotal in crafting the grooming arm of the business, setting the stage for everything from nails to baths! Starting as a bather in Georgetown, they have taken their talents to the next level here at the Academy!
